The Foundation which operates from a property in the heart of Soweto has 4 objectives:
To open the elite world of equestrian sports to people who would never otherwise have this chance; To train people in the skills required in the equestrian industry; To improve the welfare of the cart horses in Soweto and the surrounding areas and educate their owners in the care of the horses and to get disabled children on horses so they can experience the benefits of riding.
Exposure to riding
Over 700 children have been introduced to horses and horse riding at the Soweto Equestrian Centre. Children from the local community, from
care homes and from orphanages have been brought to the Centre for “pat a pony days” and riding lessons.
Riding lessons take place at the Centre twice a week and in the short space of time, we have children from Soweto doing well in the

Vaulting (gymnastics on a horse)
In less than a year we trained a team of Soweto children and they became the 2009 South African Mixed Team National Champions.
This was repeated a year later – 2010 champions!!!

A child from Soweto was included in the team representing South Africa at the 2010 World Equestrian Games in the USA.
